About Idyllwild Master Chorale
The Idyllwild Master Chorale is an auditioned, professionally conducted community of vocal musicians united by their passion for choral music and dedicated to connecting their voices to the heart, soul and musical taste of our mountain culture. Members of the IMC come from the Idyllwild area, Garner Valley, Anza, Hemet, Temecula, Palm Desert and as far away as Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties.
In 1975, Robert Evans Holmes created the beginnings of IMC by putting together a foundation group of 16 local singers for a performance of Saint Saen’s “Christmas Oratorio.” By 1976 he has added a full orchestra, a chorale of 125 singers, and four soloists to perform the entire “Messiah” by Handel. For 51 years, the Chorale has brought beautiful choral music to Idyllwild and the Hill through concert performances and musical theatre. The Chorale has always been a sanctuary for those who find solace and inspiration in music, connecting our voices to the heart, soul, and unique culture of the mountain community.
“The Jazz Fusion portion of the Winter Solstice Concert is amazing!"
